Our Team

Sougata Sarkar works on various energy efficiency & climate change projects and events. He has more than 11 years of experience in the field of energy efficiency and climate change activities in the industrial sector and has been associated with CII- GBC for past 4 years. Prior to joining CII, he worked with JSW Steel Limited for 7 years, Mumbai and was part of Energy Management team.

Apart from being a part of energy audit team in carrying out energy improvement studies in various industries, he has worked/working on projects on municipality energy efficiency, MSME M&V studies, Capacity Building of DISCOMs programme etc. He has also conducted numerous training programmes on energy efficiency. He is also Lead coordinator for CII National Award for Excellence in Energy Management

Sougata holds a PGDM(Exe) in Operations & Finance Management from IMT, Ghaziabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT, Durgapur

He is a BEE Certified Energy Auditor
